For employers, benefit plans and health authorities

Connect the care you fund to the people it’s for.

Choose who is covered and what the program includes. Cater connects enrolment, bookings and eligibility to the provider you choose or your own care team, with reports on how the program is used.

Help people use the care available to them

Access from a phone. People can enrol and book through an app, the web or a text link. English and French are included, with additional languages and right-to-left layouts available. A lightweight experience serves older phones and weak connections.

Single sign-on. Connect staff to your organizational identity provider and let patients sign in with Google or Apple. The service can also link from your existing member app.

24/7 human support. Add help with setup, sign-in, bookings and navigation by phone and in-app chat, answered in your program’s name. Clinical questions go to the care provider.

A branded trust and privacy centre. Explain what the program collects, what the funder receives, where records are hosted and how people can make privacy requests. The centre includes security, service providers, AI and accessibility information, maintained with the software.

For employers

Use an eligibility file from payroll to offer a program such as six physiotherapy or counselling sessions. Employees book with the chosen provider and can pay for further sessions themselves.

Your reports show eligible employees, enrolments and sessions used, without names or health information. That gives you a basis for reviewing reach, use and cost per participant.

Cater’s licence is priced per program. Care delivery is paid separately under your provider arrangement.

For trusts and benefit plans

Apply the fund’s eligibility rules, including an hour bank, through a file from your administration system. Members and families see the fund’s name; clinical conversations stay with their care provider.

We prepare a costed proposal for your administrator or consultant to take to the trustees.

For insurers

Offer a chronic-condition or return-to-work program through a contracted provider, under your own brand. Include it in a group plan or offer it as an option.

An eligibility feed, a link from the member app and agreed reporting connect it to your existing services. Staff can use organizational SSO. We complete the third-party risk review with your team.

For health authorities

A community program can send reminders and check-ins, collect answers and give staff a follow-up list. Delivery can sit with your own teams or a commissioned provider.

We plan the record-system connection with your digital health team so agreed program information reaches the main record. The service can include a phone-support route alongside the app and text links.

The quote sets a launch fee and annual licence. For a time-limited program, we agree the end date and data handover in that scope. Purchasing follows your supply chain process.

Your program’s name and software

The app, website and messages carry your organization’s or program’s name. You own the custom work; Cater hosts and maintains it.

Clinical records stay with the care provider in Canada. The agreement defines the information each participating organization receives.

    About this data

    • Counted: employees on the payroll file; those who confirmed their coverage; covered sessions booked and attended.
    • Withheld: names, employee numbers, which service anyone used, why, and anything a clinician records. Sessions people pay for themselves aren’t counted.
    • Small groups: a count under 5 shows as “fewer than 5”, and totals that include one are rounded, so a hidden count can’t be worked out.
    • Timing: counts update on the 1st of each month. Use, not outcomes: this report doesn’t say whether anyone got better.

For your reviewers

  • Hosting. Each program has its own database and identity service in a Canadian data centre region.
  • Access. Care teams see clinical information. Funders see the information defined in the program agreement. Role-based permissions and access logs apply to each.
  • Documentation. We supply the data-flow diagram, security controls, business impact analysis, service-provider list and exit terms, and work with you on privacy assessments and security questionnaires.
  • AI. The assistant is optional, identifies itself and hands off to a person. Public-body conversations are processed in Canada; personal information is not used to train models.
  • Supplier. Cater is built and maintained by McCauley Studios, a Canadian company carrying cyber and errors-and-omissions insurance.
